SEARCH(1) fuzzy search and filters SEARCH(1)

search - Fuzzy matching finds a track from a few letters of whatever you remember.

Match
bare words are case-insensitive subsequences. Contiguous letters and word starts rank first
Fields
artist:, title: and label: narrow to one field, and a leading minus excludes
Ranges
(130..135) is tempo in BPM, [2025..2028] is the years when tracks joined
Targets
tracks, artists, labels, albums, keys, tempo marks and playlists. Tab cycles them
Feel
a danceability value from 0 to 1, measured during analysis

aphex techno label:rephlex (130..135) [2025..2028] -remix

Bare words match the artist and the title, with the better-matching field first. A field with a colon narrows to that field. A leading minus excludes: -remix rejects the word anywhere, -artist:various only the artist.

Every constraint must hold, and an empty line shows everything.

Choose a track. The picker closes. The collection scrolls to that track's own row, even if the row sits past the visible end of a large library. Shift+Enter selects it and plays it.

Analysis derives a danceability value for each track, from 0 to 1. collier has its own measure, computed from loudness, density, brightness, tempo fit, envelope regularity and bass weight. The stats window draws the library as a histogram of laidback, grooving, driving and peak. Click a band to filter to exactly that range.

A track with no measured feel never matches a dance filter. collier never guesses a feel it did not measure. collier-cli can refresh the numbers.
